Paralympics

So I totally cheer for this.

Everything I said about the Olympics in London holds true… my concerns about the cost, the surprise of the transport working, my hatred for Boris Johnson and the aggrandizing of our glorious (shudder) leaders… but if I was impressed by the things Olympic athletes could do after only a lifetime’s dedication and hard work, imagine how wowed, how utterly, completely wowed I am by the Paralympians.  Skill, passion and dedication on a whole other level, and sure, it may reflect well on a country’s sporting prowess to win Olympic golds, but it reflects well on a country’s culture to win at the Paralympics.
