London 2012 – an addendum

Let me take this moment to add, as I’m here – BORIS BLOODY JOHNSON!

It’s not bad enough that we’ve appointed him Mayor of London – TWICE – the great blond buffoon, but now, now, anyone who takes public transport runs the dire risk of hearing an announcement broadcast on the bus or train which goes ‘Hi, this is the Mayor of London’ before swelling to an aggrandizing climax.  It’s bad enough that the man has any sort of political power, but now, in a manner not entirely unreminiscent of an Orwellian nightmare, he has to go around making insufferable announcements over public transport PA systems?  What the merry hell?!  GET BACK TO KEN’S BOLLOCK!  (That, for anyone who hasn’t visited London and doesn’t know the nickname of our town hall, is mostly a geography joke.)
