Nearly there…

Four days now, until the Neon Court is released!

I’m excited…

Although, having now put up my shiny new shelves I discover that Homebase wood isn’t all that much to write home about (who’d have thought?) so for now, my author copies are going to have to go to that graveyard of all author copies I ever receive, and serve as insulation in my Mum’s office.  Which is probably a good thing, when you think about it, because Mum’s office gets very cold and the cat likes shabby corners to sleep and puke in, and really, my flat isn’t infinite and besides, I’ve always thought it kinda… well… wanky to have your own books on prominent display, which is why I tuck what few copies I have on the highest shelf where hopefully gravity will mind its own business until I can get some braces in to stop the sag…

But point being!  After what has felt like an age, the Neon Court is out this Thursday and at some moment between all the running around and domestic angst, I’ll be at Forbidden Planet 6-7 p.m. celebrating the same.  There probably won’t be little things on sticks, but I might, just might, for one night only, go for Sainsbury’s posh cake instead of value brand.  Because what is publication day, if not for livin’ things up?
